To amend-the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1944, so as to provide for the disposal of partheard cases by permanently appointed magistrates who vacate the officeof magistrate;

• the Administration of Estates Act, 1965, so as to amend the definition of"Master"; and to provide that the Chief Master is subject to the control,direction and supervision of the Minister;

• the Companies Act, 1973, so as toeffecta technical correction;

• the Criminal Procedure Act, 1977, so as to effect a technical correction;

• the Attorneys Act, 1979, so as to allow a council to exempt an attorneyfrom the attendance of a legal practice management course in certaincircumstances;

•the Right of Appearance in Courts Act, 1995, so as to provide that anattorney that has been granted the right to appear in a High Court maydo so in any court in the Republic;

•the Special Investigating Units and Special Tribunals Act, 1996, so as toprovide for the delegation by the head of a Special Investigating Unit ofhisorherpowers and functions in certain circumstances;

•the Maintenance Act, 1998, so as to further regulate the appointment ordesignation of officers in the Department as maintenance investigators;•the Debt Collectors Act, 1998, so as to amend the definition of "debtcollector"; to correct an erroneous reference; to provide anew for thekeeping of registers by the Debt Collectors Council; to provide for thecancellation of the registration of a debt collector; and to further regulatethe provisions relating to trust accounts of debt collectors;

• the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, 2000, so as to makeprovision for the publishing of a code of good administrative conduct bynotice in theGazette;and to extend the period of time within which thecode of good administrative conduct must be made;•the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Dscrimination Act,2000, so as to extend the application of the Act expressly to includeintersexedpersons within the definition of sex;

• the Implementation of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal CourtAct, 2002, so asto clarify the provision regarding the surrender of a person to the International Criminal Court; and• the Judicial Matters Second Amendment Act, 2003, so as to repeal a redundant provision;and to provide for matters connected therewith.

To amend the Patents Act, 1978, so as to insert certain definitions; and to require an applicant for a patent to furnish information relating to any role played by an indigenous biological resource, a genetic resource or traditional knowledge or use in an invention; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

To amend the Road Accident Fund Act, 1996, so as to extend the powers of the Fund regarding the conclusion of agreements; to alter the financial year of the Fund: to make new provisions regarding the Board of the Fund; to further regulate the Fund’s obligation to compensate a third party for non-pecuniary loss, for certain hospital or medical expenses, and for loss of income or support; to repeal certain provisions limiting the liability of the Fund to R25 000 in respect of claims; to abolish certain common law claims; to make further provision for the prescription of certain claims; to substitute the provision authorising the Minister to make regulations; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

To amend the Public Funding of Represented Political Parties Act, 1997, so as to provide for the re-allocation of moneys from the Represented Political Parties' Fund and to regulate the repayment of unspent balances of all moneys allocated to political parties participating in Parliament and provincial legislatures where a member of a legislature becomes a member of another party whilst retaining membership of that legislature or where an existing party merges with another party, subdivides into more than one party or subdivides and any one subdivision merges with another party; to amend the Determination of Delegates (National Council of Provinces) Act, 1998, so as to provide for the re-determination of certain delegates of a provincial legislature that has been reconstituted on account of changes of party membership and mergers or subdivision of parties; and to provide for matters connected therewith.
